Voddler expands movie app to Nokia
Voddler, the Scandinavian online movie service, has launched an app for Nokia phones.
The free app works on Symbian smartphones that have upgraded to Symbian Anna, which comes with an improved user experience, including a new user interface, improved web browser and increased security. It is available in the Ovi Store and enables users to watch movies over mobile networks and WiFi.
This is the latest in a string of app launches by Voddler as it attempts to develop a multiscreen service. This year has seen Voddler app launches on iPhones, iPads and Android devices.
“You should be able to watch movies when and where you like, regardless of which screen you happen to have next to you. Some mobile platforms still have business restrictions or technical limitations, but on our Nokia-app we can now offer all the films that Voddler has, both new rentals and classic ad-funded titles,” said Anders Sjöman, vice-president, communication at Voddler.
From launch, the app has about 250 movies activated for mobile viewing. New titles will be added from Voddler’s growing catalogue of over 4,500 titles. Among the movies that can be see from launch are No Strings Attached, Red Riding Hood, Due Date and The Town.
