MTS names marketing chief

Russian quad-play service provider MTS has named Vasily Latsanych as vice-president of marketing. Latsanych was previously director-general of MTS Ukraine. He replaces Mikhail Gerchuk, who is taking on a new role within the group.

Separately, MTS has completed the building of a fibre-to-the-building network in the city of Engels in the Saratov region of the Volga Federal District of Russia. The network covers about 25,000 households in Engels, giving residents the ability to access up to 72 TV channels and 21.5Mbps broadband internet. MTS plans to upgrade networks providing fixed services to 260,000 households in the Volga region by the end of this year.
