httv and Metalligence partner for OTT

Hybrid TV software specialist httv has integrated its new set-top box solution called httvBOX on Metalligence set-top boxes to create an OTT solution.

httvBOX is an embedded software solution for hybrid set-top boxes that httv will launch at IBC. It is integrated on the Metalligence MT2300 HD IP-connected DVR.

The new box allows access to live video streaming and supports Apple HTTP Live Streaming adaptive streaming. It offers advanced UI, fast zapping, video-on-demand and catch-up TV as well as DVR features include time-shifting and trick modes. It also supports advanced services including social networking integration and other interactive TV applications.

httv said the joint solution is a “cost-effective response to the growing demand of OTT services…and hybrid networks”.
