Star Africa expands in Rwanda

African pay TV operator Star Africa Media is launching three new channels in Rwanda.

The service, which is branded as Star Times, is celebrating its third year of operations in the country and has 35,000 subscribers. It is operated by Chinese digital television company Star Media. The operator is launching three new channels including general entertainment networks and movie channels and is eyeing the launch of further stations next year.

“The improvement of our [channels] is always based on our client’s priority and we are set to also add movie channels by November this year,” said Eric Liang Liu, sales and marketing director, Star Times.
