Azerbaijan to expand DTT to 60 channels
Authorities in Azerbaijan are eyeing the launch of up to 60 channels on its digital terrestrial service.
The service, which launched recently with 10 free-to-air channels, is expected to add a pay component in January 2012, when the country implements digital switchover. Digital penetration currently reaches 85% of the country including the regions of Baku, Ganja, Shirvan, Lerik and Lankaran, according to deputy minister of communications and information technologies of Azerbaijan Elmir Velizadeh.
