Miramax to launch Facebook streaming service

US studio Miramax is to launch a movie streaming service via Facebook in the US, UK and Turkey, with France and Germany to follow in the near future, according to a report by the PaidContent website.

The Miramax experience, as the service is called, will offer 20 titles for rent in the US, and 10 each in the UK and Turkey, according to PaidContent. Titles will be available for rent for 30 Facebook credits, or about €2, for viewing over 48 hours within a 30 day period. Titles available in all three markets will include Chicago, Cold Mountain and Good Will Hunting, according to PaidContent. Movies available on the service will also be viewable on iPads via a browser-based player.
