Primacom launches home alarm system

German cable operator Primacom has launched an emergency alarm system targeting its elderly and vulnerable customers.

The operator has launched the service in partnership with Sonotel, a non-profit organisation that supplies home care and social communication services. Users are supplied with a device that can be worn around the wrist or neck that when pressed sends a signal via the internet to Sonotel’s emergency centre.

“Independence and freedom for our older customers is important,” said Joachim Grendel, spokesman for the Primacom management. “With the home care system, we now offer technical support for a secure life in their own homes.”
