Scandinavian Canal Plus to launch new HD channels

TV4 Group-owned Scandinavian pay TV service Canal Plus is to launch new HD channels in the autumn.

Canal Plus First HD, an HD version of the group’s most popular film channel, will launch on August 19. Another HD version of an existing Canal Plus movie channel, Canal Plus Hits HD, will launch in October.

Canal Plus Sport Extra HD will launch on August 20, providing additional HD coverage of Spain’s La Liga, the English Premier League and Italy’s Serie A football.
