Edonys protests CSA decision on wine channel

France-based international channel Edonys, which deals with all aspects of wine and viticulture, has accused media regulator the CSA of discriminating against its plans to launch another wine-based channel in France.

Edonys has alleged that CSA member Catherine Laborde has expressed her opposition to the creation of such a channel in the media, which is technically against the CSA’s rules.

The CSA refused Edonys’ application by referring to the Évin law of 1991, which places severe restrictions of the representation and advertising or promotion of alcohol on TV.
